This fee per item INCLUDES an 8-week pressing order and can add up to three (3) weeks to any turnaround time for the order containing this book.
Items must not be excessively brittle or fragile, especially at corners, edges, staples or spines.
Tape removal involves scraping, heat, solvents or combinations of these techniques
When removing tape, some color could rip away (tape pull) or ink color surfaces could crack/break; and exacerbated spine splits/broken brittle corners/extended paper tears are possible
We cannot guarantee that new defects won’t be introduced during this process
Tear seals involve the application of Japanese paper with a natural adhesive e.g., wheat starch paste
Placing seals over tears relies on moist adhesive, which can sometimes leave marks or tidelines e.g., on the reverse side of very thin, tan paper
Tear seals are difficult to see but sometimes can be noticeable when laid over graphics - usually applied on the inside of a cover or over a page
Tear seals can be removed with moisture in the future
